Michael Moore should be shot.

Andy - 2004-10-08 09:18:11
Don't base your vote on Moore's peice of garbage. Even the DNC has denouced it. If you are going to vote democratic, do so for real, legitimate reasons. I thought you were smarter than that UB.

I stopped reading at the Michael Moore sentence. Base your vote on truth not that fat ass's slander.

I don't believe everything in F9/11 to be true, but I still loved it. Apparently a few people who read here, don't like him too much though. Anyway, I watched that show last night with Kelly Osbourne in it. Only one boy was hot for her, the others were all calling her a fat pig. It was a terrible show though, nothing even remotely close to My So-Called Life.

warcrygirl - 2004-10-08 09:34:15
I agree with Andy, there's two sides to every story. I have a hard time taking a movie seriously that's labeled a documentary when there are indeed so many errors. And seriously, the money he's offering as a reward? Will he be taking the money from the huge profit he made from his "documentary"?

I will definitely be voting for Bush.

Bing - 2004-10-08 09:34:27
If a girl did it on the first date - great!! If she didn't by the third, or fourth if she was really hot or appealed to one of my several fetish interests, then hasta la vista baby.

I know I shouldn't pass any judgement here as I am not an American, but I am seriosly worried that people can still defend Bush and want him as a president. This isn't based my feelings for the Michael Moore Documentary - I haven't even seen it yet - but Bush has to be one of the biggest mistakes America has ever made (a long list of further ones were made under his leadership)!
-------------------------------
Amy - 2004-10-08 10:18:20
Remember that banner that dropped off the Department of the Interior in the beginning sequence of the movie? I made that. No shit. Bush is a bully and a weasle.

Fully agreeing with Emma. I wish people outside the US got to vote on November 2nd too - and we should! After all, Bush is trying to ruin the entire world. If Europeans had any say, he'd so lose. I was forced to see Kelly Osbourne live last year, when she opened for Robbie Williams. Not only can she not sing, and not only do all her songs seem to have the same lyrics, but also does she not have any charisma whatsoever. The crowd of 70,000 basically ignored her. She got like no applause. So cool :D

Haven't seen f/911 yet and am not that interested in politics but hell ya I'm voting for Kerry. Bush is a colossal numbnut. Didn't vote for him the first time wouldn't vote for him again. Kelly Osbourne is fascinating in a train wreck sort of way.

Joan - 2004-10-08 11:05:26
I keep wondering about Bush (and I'm not alone 'cause this is from an editorial in L. A. Times today "Is He a Dope?"): Does this man think through his beliefs before they harden into unwavering principles? Is he open to countervailing evidence? Does he test his beliefs against new evidence and outside argument? Does his understanding of a subject go any deeper than the minimum amount needed for public display? Is he intellectually curious? Does he try to reconcile his beliefs on one subject with his beliefs on another? Don't we think these are important qualities for a President? He and Cheney still haven't admitted Saddam Hussein did NOT have WMD. They have only acknowledged the report...amazing! He intended!

UB, I never expected you to be so easily persuaded. I hope you don't receive any Scientology literature ... Anyhoo, Matt Stone (South Park) had this to say about people being influenced to vote a certain way because of a movie. I just thought it was appropriate. "If anyone walks out of (Team America), or a Michael Moore movie, thinking about voting a certain way, then they're fucking stupid and shouldn't be voting" Vote *YES* on hard-core puppet sex!

Girls that dont kiss on the first date dont deserve a call back. Its just kissing. If you cant picture kissing someone, you shouldnt agree to go out. Bush put a stranglehold on stem-cell research, guys my age are losing limbs, dying in a vain war that bears no relation to 9/11, and its tough as hell to find a good job anymore.

Uncle Bob - 2004-10-08 12:29:55
Once again people ... watch the movie. THEN ... THEN ... THEN ... form your own opinions of what is right and wrong. Yesterday's headlines said ONCE AGAIN that there were NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION in Iraq ... Bush and Cheney are the ONLY ONES who will not admit this now. We're in a senseless war because of one man's senseless act to avenge his Daddy and if he gets re-elected, you can get ready for an involuntary draft in the next year and another 10-20 years in Iraq. For those of you who think less of me for not supporting Bush ... do me a favor ... find another diary to read every day. Or if you can't find another diary to read, start polishing up your guns because you're the next to go to Iraq to get your heads blown off and leave your mamas crying.
-------------------------------
michelle - 2004-10-08 12:31:21
The movie didn't persuade me to vote a certain way; I knew Bush was an idiot years ago. The movie just reinforces that fact. :)
-------------------------------
Uncle Bob - 2004-10-08 12:59:50
Okay ... my previous post was pretty harsh and I apologize. If you choose not to read my diary over my political views, I don't blame you. But I just want to pose a few questions to the Bush supporters. One, have you seen the film yet or are you just blindly hating on it without actually viewing it based on a knee-jerk reaction that you feel you must have? And two ... if you do support Bush, why do you think we invaded Iraq and are still there? On the plus side ... it's 12:15 and Granny's still not here. So regardless of what is written here ... IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY.
-------------------------------
Andy - 2004-10-08 14:00:53
ok...this is turning into a FARK thread.

Drop the damn Draft thing That's a lie.

Why are you voting for Kerry? If "it's a anyone but Bush," then you really are deficient.

ahh forget it....honeslty, we're not going to resolve it here...

I respect your decision Uncle Bob, and I strongly encourage you and all the other brain dead Kerry supports to exercise your right to vote. Dont Forget to vote! Tuesday, Nov 9th!

Victor Pulak - 2004-10-08 14:23:04
I respect all well formed opinions. I just think it's silly that a movie can make a people do a 180 politically. That's like saying "I read an article in The National Review and I am now denouncing my liberalness!" There are always grey areas. I think Moore can be really funny and effective. But he loses his focus often. And I think that's what robs him of some credibility. So yeah, don't blame me, I voted for Kodos!
-------------------------------
erica - 2004-10-08 15:02:32
I don't understand how anyone can vote for someone who can't form simple sentences. What choice does he have but to stick to his guns? He'd be too confused if he changed his mind. "We ended the rule of one of history's worst tyrants, and in so doing, we not only freed the American people, we made our own people more secure." Bush-Crawford, Texas, May 3, 2003
-------------------------------
erin - 2004-10-08 15:27:55
I don't think UB has done a complete 180 after F9/11, so it's silly to even bring that up. Of course, he may not have initially been for Kerry, but I've certainly never seen him imply that he's for Bush! (Heh.) I do think it's amusing that Kerry voters are "brain-dead," (thanks, Andy), yet I'd never make that lump generalization about Bush voters. Isn't it nice how the Republican party just embodies respect and love?
-------------------------------
MooreSucks - 2004-10-08 15:31:31
I'd actually like to see the movie, being that I hate to spurt opinions out without doing the research...But I will not give him any of my money. So, THEN THEN THEN, why don't you send me your copy?
-------------------------------

warcrygirl - 2004-10-08 18:15:46
The headlines I heard stated that Saddam was planning to reinstate his weapons plan. You just can't argue that the world isn't better off without Saddam in power.

And yes UB, the draft is a complex hoax. I really hate how both sides are using fear to influence voters. And how do we know if Kerry does win that he won't change his mind and do the exact opposite of what he's pledging to do?

Actually, that would be funny...
-------------------------------
grassyknoll - 2004-10-08 18:30:46
Seeing "Fahrenheit 9/11" would actually make me look like I gave a maggot-infested flea-bitten rat's ass about what Michael Moore thinks. I even had a FREE pass to see it last week and I consciously let it expire. Moore freely admits that he made this movie because he hates Bush on a personal level. Anyone with that much animosity cannot be trusted to tell the truth. So I don't even waste my time.
-------------------------------
erica - 2004-10-08 18:35:20
The headlines I heard stated that Saddam just wanted to look like he was doing more than he was capable of, and that he was more concerned about Iran than the US. In any case, I'd say we can all agree that no one wanted him to be in power, but considering the new information, we shouldn't have rushed into war without exhausting other possibilities.
-------------------------------
grassyknoll - 2004-10-08 18:42:22
P.S.: People are going to get their asses shot off one way or another with all this terrorism shit. We can vote for Bush, and have our troops risk getting their asses shot off in the Middle Eastern desert. OR we could vote for Kerry, who is about as spineless and indecisive as they come, and have the rest of our asses shot off back here. It's not a "none of the above" situation. The terrorists have us on their radar and they're not going away. I am proudly voting for Bush, even moreso than I did in 2000, because I feel he's the only one who truly gives a shit about all the people who died in 9/11 and who really takes the threat of future attacks seriously, as it should. We shouldn't have to be fearful night and day about it, but I really get the feeling that Kerry has, for the most part, blown it off. He didn't have to be in Bush's seat on 9/11 and make the decisions he had to make. He just has no clue.
-------------------------------
grassyknoll - 2004-10-08 18:45:18
Erica: We stayed out as absolutely long as possible. Any longer and Saddam would've slipped out of our grasp entirely yet again. Then we'd look like chumps for losing track of him AND Osama. Who knows -- if we hadn't invaded when we did, Saddam could've left the entire Mideast by then instead of just Baghdad. So we went only when we absolutely couldn't wait any longer.

erin said: "I don't think UB has done a complete 180 after F9/11, so it's silly to even bring that up." Actually, erin, I was referring to this quote from UB's diary: "'Fahrenheit' blew (Suzie) away. And while she's always voted Republican in the past ... not this time." And before you assume any more, in the 13 years that I have been able to vote I've never been a registered Republican. My comments were bipartisan. It's really hard to be concise when discussing these issues, but one has to try in these little forums. It's very easy to be misunderstood. I apologize if I'm being obtuse.
-------------------------------
beth - 2004-10-08 19:35:22
So, grassyknoll, you are totally entitled to your opinions; but if you trully believe what you said, "Moore freely admits that he made this movie because he hates Bush on a personal level. Anyone with that much animosity cannot be trusted to tell the truth," then you cannot possibly believe anything George W. Bush says about Saddam Hussein. I don't think there is anyone who has shown more personal animosity towards another person. He actually said he is against Saddam because "...he tried to kill my dad." Reguardless of how you feel about any of the confilcts in Iraq, that sounds pretty damn personal to me. Again, you can think what you want and the important thing is for everyone to vote, but make sure you look at both side of the coin and make an educated decision, whatever that decision is. :-)
-------------------------------
erica - 2004-10-08 19:40:11
Grassy: Isn't it ironic that WE supported Saddam's rise to power in '79? Please tell me if it was Saddam who flew the planes on 9/11, because if so, I was misinformed. No one is saying that he should've remained in power, but that the war was a lot more than what we bargained for, and Bush can't admit it. Personally, it freaks me out that someone so blind is running the country. Next thing you know he'll be declaring war on London because Cat Stevens flew from there. The man is in denial. Saddam wasn't as much of a threat to the U.S. as we were lead to believe and that's a fact.

I'm with grassyknoll. Not that I'm a bush lover I just can't see voting for kerry - enough of that - it's getting beat to death here. I mainly just wanted to say that you girls that will do it by the 2nd or 3rd date ROCK :)))))))) Kind of ironic that the woman I'm really interested in I've known for 7 months and the progress is v-e-r-y slow, but hopefully will be worth it in the longrun. Meantime.......NEXT ! ! !

grassyknoll - 2004-10-08 23:34:43
Just FYI about what Moore said, directly from MSNBC: Moore: "This is not a partisan issue with me, this is not me trying to " Matt Lauer: "Not a personal attack on the Bush family." Moore: "Oh yeah. It's that. If you'd asked the question that way." And if it was all about his dad with W, if it was the ONLY reason for Iraq, then why did he wait until he'd been in office well over two years to invade? Why did tax cuts and Osama and Afghanistan and etc all come first? (P.S. Even the middle class got a huge tax cut. I had my tax rates drop by almost 10%. Hooray for more gross pay! :D ) Hope you all have a good weekend! :)

This is a good Kerry article, might bring a little balance to the Bush spin machine. http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/093004A.shtml C'mon, lets make a deal, if you get rid of Bush, we'll try our hardest to shift his little clone Blair, seriously! Oh and the Michael Moore-Fahrenheit film, seriously you should watch it, it really doesn't make any mad accusations, it doesn't tell you anything you didn't already know, it's actually very well made and funny (in a oh my god, this really isn't funny sort of way).

Max - 2004-10-10 08:14:11
Eep! EEP! All the people ready to vote Bush! And proudly! It is scary to me over here in Britain, seeing as I have a choice between a) voting for America's butt-monkey, b) voting incrrrrrrrredibly right-wing, or c) voting for loser McLoserface who will never ever win and throwing my vote away. (Ralph Nader, anyone?) I would kinda like a chance to get Bush out of office. But I have no say in it. Oh, and don't let the terrorist hype get to you- the terrorists aren't trying any hardewr than they have been, they just got lucky once. And what happened to that thing about Bush catching Osama bin Laden? Has he just forgotten about that? Is it not important any more? What's going on there?

Such divisions in beliefs have created civil wars....sad state of affairs. I HAVE seen Mikeys droning documentary and still have strong feelings that putting Kerry in office can only do harm.(as a side note....he has Britney Spears in it....GAH!!...thats intelligent life!!) I dont agree with EVERYTHING Bush has said or done but the thing is....I believe ALOT of it and have a very hard time believing ANYTHING that comes out of Kerrys mouth. Many dinning room table arguments have been started over this election with either side planting firm in thier choices....I have given up trying to sway anyone and will exercise my right to vote in hopes we do the right thing.

"A warthog with pigtails!?" That's priceless. Michael Moore used to have a scathingly funny show called The Awful Truth. He was at his absolute best when he was poking fun at skirt chasing Bill Clinton, and that shrew Hillary. I saw his "documentary" and thought it was very one sided. I'm not a Bush fan (I live in California, and if SOMEONE doesn't take a firm stand on illegal immigration soon, I tell you, we will ALL be speaking spanish. Namby-pamby Bush is so afraid of offending Mexican presidente Vincente Fox, he does nothing. In the meantime, we are literally being overrun! Like fucking cockroaches! We do have a ray of hope in that Ahhhnold recently denied the wetback bastards driver's licenses, for the second time.) On the other hand, I've no respect for rich John Kerry, his rich nutjob wife (who isn't even an American), and God help us, John Edwards, A FUCKING PERSONAL INJURY LAWYER, his fat wife, and two creepy cloned-from-their-dead-son toddlers. Suppose something happens to Kerry? Do people really want a shifty trial lawyer to be running the country? And Europeans want to vote for OUR president!!?? What the hell gives them the right?! No, America DOES NOT want to take over the world. We want for you pussy Europeans to run your own countries without our help, start paying for shit, quit blaming us for everything, and leave us the hell alone!
