did you not pay with credit card? So that you could call and dispute the charge? Credit card companies are evil and suck but that's one good thing about them - and they will generally do it for you with no hassle.

It's time to open up a virtual container of cyber-whupass! You're a bright guy, I'm sure you knwo what to do. P.S. When it comes to DVR's, functional will suffice. Nobody knows what you have till you tell them and even then, they probably don't give a crap. I know, I'm an undercover geek!

If they actually CHARGED your credit card, they are more than likely just sitting on your money as you suspect. And IF they did charge your CC, you have 60 days from the time of the charge to dispute it. A lot of these fly-by-night NY style "warehouses" tell you that they will deliver "as soon as they receive", and stall you past the sixty days, then, good luck getting anything back. They truly will be able to party it up on your dime and you have zero recourse with the CC company. So, check your statement carefully UB, to prevent total and complete lose of your hard-earned bucks.

Just my $0.02 worth, but if you send me your CC number, I'll charge you only $19.95.

Bought Hubby a LiteOn 5104 for Cristmas. $150.00 after $50.00 rebate. Works great and easy setup. Just in case you decide to get a different one.

i thought companies couldn't technically charge your credit card until merchandise was shipped. i could be wrong, but it's worth checking into.

Yes, you're wrong, no it's not worth checking into. Have you ever bought anything online? Geez. UB, I would tell them you want a refund, then make sure it comes off your card in about 2 to 3 business days. And go to pricegrabber.com and look at merchant reviews before you actually purchase things. =]
