HURRICANE UPDATE

My God. We STILL have power.

It's flickering on and off ... every 10 minutes or so it goes off for about 3 seconds and then comes back on.

We may make it out of here alive after all.

Here's a pic for ya of the front yard. Granted, this doesn't have the howling wind sound with it, but you can see my pathetic tree starting to bend from the wind which has reached 60 mph out here.

They're saying the eye of the storm is coming through in about 90 minutes.

THAT'S when it's supposed to be bad and I guess we'll lose power then.

This is the second update I've done today. You can find the other one here or whatever.

Susie did NOT go to work ... she called the manager who said he was sending everyone home at 7:30 a.m. which was so stupid. Apparently half the people showed up for work, only to be told 30 minutes later to go back OUT in the hurricane and go be with their families.

One girl had to drive her kids 40 miles south to leave them at her mother's house and then drive back to town to work ... and then told they were going to close after all.

I really like Susie's boss.

But this was just stupid beyond belief.

Anyway ... gotta go back and put some more batten down on the hatches for the worst of this storm to come through.

Better get outta here before the power flickers again.
