Why not just quote Dr. J. Phillippe Rushton's (google him) study and argue that the asian kids are immune to humor because of their giant brains, and smaller than average penises? They weren't stoic, they were doing engineering calculations on the velocity and relative trajectory while sliding while bemoaning their dim prospects for hot monkey sex as adults. Bob, I wish you would tell the four Chinese kids on my street that they are supposed to be humorless. Those little hooligans rip through the neighborhood on their bikes, on our lawns, teasing my dog, playing in my driveway at all hours, throwing snowballs at the house. Jeez. They're almost as bad as the white kids!
Also, my brothers and I attempted to be as inconspicous as possible so as not to get into trouble, thus creating the illusion of humorlessness. This is because we were usually plotting some destruction of neighborhood property.

'politically incorrect' means using 'improper' language. 'racist' is perpetuating prejudice, bias, and perhaps (but not necesarilly) hatred, towards a particlar ethnic group. this entry was racist, not simply politically incorrect. if the kids were white, would the entry be, "all white kids have no sense humour?" would anyone have found that funny? why is it that 2 kids of a minority group can represent an entire culture when 2 'white' kids would be just that -- kids? is it because 2 asian kids can only represent other asian kids when white kids can represent all children? this isn't a flame by any means, but i'm writing it as something to think about in not only future entries but the next time you're at the playground and trying to generalise based on physical features. the entry would've actually been funny and far less offensive if it was just on 'these two anomalies at the playground' instead of kids characterised by 'race.' as it stands, it's not that i don't have a sense of humour, or that bing doesn't have a sense of humour; rather, the issues is that the most common way racism is perpetuated isn't through cross burning and obvious kkk-type hate literature, but through covert stereotyping and racist 'jokes' like this. and, come on... saying the language the woman was speaking is like "a silverware drawer being overturned onto a cement floor" is not only stereotpying, but it's extremely offensive.

It was satire. And quite often, white kids can be generalized as well and are done so often. (Can't dance, can't play basketball, etc..) Why is is so offensive to make a slight joke at culture or differences? Making slight fun of how someone talks in a foreign language is normal. Don't think that in China, they have a chuckle at the way we talk. Does that offend me? Nope.
It's humor. It's satire, it was meant to provoke a small laugh. I would think if someone wrote a peice about two redneck white kids who play with each other's mullets and talk like Gomer Pile, we'd still laugh.

Ahem. As someone of Asian descent, I just want to say that the Ching-Chong-Chang thing was pretty damned annoying. Kindly note that if you listen (actually listen!) to Asian people speaking (Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, etc.), you'll find that they do not sound like a "silverware drawer being overturned onto a cement floor." I realize that UB is not exactly a politically correct persona, but the perpetuation of stereotypes can be offensive even if it is meant in jest. Actually, what's even *more* offensive (and annoying) is when people (particularly those who are not the target of the 'satire') tell others to 'lighten up' and to not be so pc. People are entitled to their own feelings! Finally, when there's been a history of people using particular stereotypes to be hurtful to a particular group, then any referencing of that stereotype by the dominant group, even for the purpose of satire, cannot be considered entirely innocent.
