The others "had" to work a whole week? I'm with you U.B., unless it's temp to perm and you're trying to impress somebody's ass, temp work is just that. Temporary. You don't "have" to show up if you don't want to show up.

Time is money UB - quit the temp job asap.

About the DJ. Like you said. Give her a week to get out all the "pissies". Then, if not, fire her ass. 'Cause the last thing you need is a morale killer in a enviroment that's supposed to be fun.

I HATE temp agencies! The last time I worked for one they lied on my last two jobs. They knew I was wanting temp only Mon-Fri 40 hours a week or less and both times stuck me on 7 day a week 12 hour (sometimes more) very physical labored jobs. After promising they were 9-5 ers and uh, EASY! The life of Riley. Heh. My g-ma used to say that. Cool.

Dude, be careful about the debit card machines. I mean, really, what business do you know that DOESN'T have one already? Trust me, there are 50 people a day going to every business you can imagine trying to get them to use their particular debit card machines. Just like there are 50 fuckers a day calling me trying to hawk Alfa (quack, quack). You don't want to end up with a garage full of little card readers that you paid up front for.

Temp jobs just around here just mean they are short term employment. They still expect you to work every day you are scheduled. The employers are still expecting a body to show up. Thank God I only did temp work for two days. It made me realize how important it would be to get a real job. If I had to do what I did temping (factory piece work) I'd have killed myself before I turned 20.

UB....don't burn any bridges. Ms. Business Lady may at some point become Ms. Job Interviewer for something you really want. Or more likely, Ms. Recommender to Company trying to choose between two candidates.

My husband worked a temp job for awhile, and it sucked. Not only did he have to go in for his first day about 20 minutes after we got the call from the hospital that we could finally bring our baby daughter home (I had to get my brother's gf to take me up), but it was 12 hour night shifts. With a new baby. The horror.

Having a lot more fun than Im having in school. Anyways, we need more "Ask Andrew" sessions. I would make up some questions, but Id rather not get my name involved... Ok, whatever, how about: "I went to this party last week, met this chick, and really hit it off with her. I brought her home and when I was about to bang her... she was a he. I liked her/him so much that I let her/him bang me in the ass. Was that the right thing to do?" or maybe: "If my grandma insists on french kissing me in order for her to give me $50, should I do it?" You know... that kinda weird questions. ;-)

I know most of the temp agencies are crap, and give you crap jobs. There are a few out there though that do a better job & serve a higher class of clients. I got my current job through a temp agency. I'm a Network admin at an international manufaturing company. This temp place I used started me out at some less than stellar jobs (pull old PC off of desk, put new PC on desk, pack old PCs on pallette to ship to auction), but even those sound better than telemarketing or working in a factory for 12 hours a day. Look in your newspaper for temp ads for technical positions with lots of requirements (college/certifications/computer experience, etc.). Call up the temp agency & tell them what you're looking for.
