"As I lay in bed". And now you have to go get me all hot and bothered thinking about you in bed. Damn you.

"Never interupt your wife when she is talking about people at work"...truer words were never spoken. I have given up trying to follow the "who's who" in my wife's work place soap opera. I did give some thought of drawing up some fancy tree/network diagrams to help keep everyone straignt, but I am resigned to sit there and nod as if I have been following her story as if it were a playoff game.

Wouldn't it be, "Getting your stick dipped." ?? Andy - the tree/network diagram is called a 'horse blanket' in the military. Once developed, it would be a big help in pretending to listen.

Dude, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks that while watching Blind Date. You may have 11 years of marriage on me, but I too have mad skillz in the art of listening.
I'm sorry what were you saying?
When I was 21 I was about as smooth as a $20 scrap of triple-rated sandpaper. But now when I watch Blind Date I'm like "no wonder they're still single...and a loser."

I dated that type once...ONCE. This is the psycho who tried to tell me who I could be friends with and what I could and couldn't eat, etc. I eventually told him to fuck off and moved out but not before he told in (in great detail) how he was going to kill me and dispose of my body. I was 28 when I got married and am glad I waited. Despite the few losers I dated here and there I had a great time.

Screw the Uncle Bob of 20 years ago on Blind Date. I'd like to see the UB of today on there, being Mr. Sensitive Listening guy who is secretly whacking his yambag under the table while mentally undressing his date.

Comedy Gold I tell ya! GOLD!

So THATS why men sit quietly and listen while I'm talking. And never once interrupt.

Conjugations of the day: To lie (as in bed): I lie in bed (now) I lay in bed (yesterday) I have lain in bed (in the indeterminate past) To lay (as an egg; "lay" always takes an object) The chicken lays the egg (now) The chicken laid the egg (yesterday) The chicken has laid many eggs (at some point) The verb "to get laid" takes a whole different conjugation, by the way.
