Dude, you need to turn your answering machine on and turn the ringer OFF!

Seriously.

Go register on the "Do Not Call" list. Easy to do, cuts way back on soliciters and surveys.

If the phone wakes me up, there's no way in hell i'm talking to that person on the phone. Turning the ringer off=sweet sweet sleep for Uncle Bob.

I've tried the trick of turning off the ringer, etc, and then I lie there worrying that somebody's going to ring the doorbell. Or I'm missing an important death's door type of phone call. You describe your exhaustion so well that now I'm tired, too.

Tylenol PM + turning off ringer = sleep

Good suggestions. Let me reiterate and expound. 1. National Do-Not call list. It works. 2. No Andrew in the bed 3. Warm milk and a turkey sandwich 4. A few tokes. (you know it would work) Love ya baby.

I was going to say the same as Danelle.... God Love You. I hate those people that call. I signed up for the do not call list, and once in a blue moon one gets thru. Nyquil is the best too. Happy Bo-bos. ZZZZzzzzZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZzzzz....

All four members of my household have mobiles, we also have a fax line, two office phones and two regular phones. I'm frequently the only person in the house and I can be up working at night until five. My solution? VOICEMAIL! If the universe wants to speak to you that bad they'll leave a bloody message. Still, when I don't remember to turn it on I get a bajillion people calling from India attempting to insure me, so you have my sympathy.

You've immortalized your mother-in law and given me some belly laughs. You should have Tourette's Syndrome in front of her some time. How did Susie ever get born to this weirdo?

One word: voicemail. You can take the phone off the hook and not worry about missing any calls.

Oh God, I feel your pain! It's now 1am. I have had a grand prize winning total of precisely 3.25 hours of sleep in the past THREE DAYS! To make matters worse, I actually have a DAY job that I'm pretty sure I am supposed to go to tomorrow morning.
