I HATE getting my hair cut. What a waste of money! I used to have short hair and still got charged ladies prices when my hair was shorter than most of my guy friends. Wish I could cut straight, I'd cut my own hair!

Ah, your from Illinois. That would explain the Berlinetta. And, may I add... Yay for Free Haircuts! Yay for Free Haircuts! I've gotta get a haircut tomorrow, and I can guarantee you that it is going to cost WAY more than free. Way more! Can you score some more of those coupons?

Bonsai - 2005-01-14 10:02:47
"Susie managed to finagle two coupons." Er, what the hell is a finagle? Is that US speak for "wangle"? But anyway - thanks for another chortle filled entry Unc'!

My mom used to put a bowl on my head and cut.... it's no wonder all my childhood pics of me look like Moe.

Nothing is more valuable to ones hair than a competent stylist/barber. You were fortunate to get one that listened to what you asked and give you what you needed. The worst of the lot don't listen and don't care. Then they tell you things like, "It'll look better in a week". Gosh!

Tenshi - 2005-01-14 10:30:53
*laughs* Bowl-cutting... that used to scare me. No one should use a bowl as a cutting pattern. NO ONE. Not even Hitler. Damn it. Anyway, finagle simply means "to obtain using indirect or deceitful methods." Or, you know. To cheat it out of someone. :P lol

Chip - 2005-01-14 11:22:56
"Chortle"?? That's just as weird of a word as "finagle." Weird Canadians. Anyway, UB did you go to Sports Clips? I heard they give great men's haircuts there. Nothing like the bowl cuts Barb used to recieve. ;)

Shteph - 2005-01-14 12:36:51
But, I want a pitchur of your sexy hair. Bedhead-no bedhead. Bedhead-no beadhead. That'd be great!

nautile - 2005-01-14 12:55:16
I know 'finagle.' Maybe it's a Southern thing. It sorta means something like 'weasel out' or 'to get something by mildly underhanded means.' I dunno, best I could come up with.

Dea - 2005-01-14 13:12:48
I knew what finagle meant, and chorkle and I'm Canadian eh! My cat's name is Bonsai...

Nance - 2005-01-14 13:42:28
I believe that both "finagle" and "chortle" are both good ole Midwestern words and UB is a good ole Midwesterner, now ain't he?

andrea - 2005-01-14 15:24:24
I know "finagle", but I've never heard "wangle" until today. It sounds like an insult. "Shut the hell up, you wangle!"

krissie p - 2005-01-14 15:37:54
1) i have heard both "finagle" and "chortle" and i am from the north east... therefore... i think it has no bearing on where you are from as to whether or not you know words... just how much you listen to those around you. or something like that... 2) i havent gotten my hair cut in a while... its usually years between hair cuts. last times i got one it wasnt my normal blunt cut... im not sure how i feel about it now... 3) im comming to Illinois from rhode island to get my hair cut... what did you say the name was? 4) i too watched the pool summit... i usually watch it everyday... by choice... because like them... i jam a pool cue in my hand before im to trashed to do so...

My family was pretty dense when it came to chosing a haircutting place (went to the same damn place for roughly the first decade and a half of my life. came home with some variation on the fem-mullet every time no matter what I actually asked for.) but at least I never got bowl treatment. Man.

Heres one: scoocum. Any guesses as to what it means?
-------------------------------
Colfaxeng - 2005-01-14 20:22:07
Jamie, you bviously misspelled "scrotum", and we already know what means, scoocums...

stella - 2005-01-14 23:00:59
I have resorted to trimming my own hair. The lady who actually cuts it is 2 hours away, so I get a good cut every 6 months or so. And everybody around here that I've seen didn't know what a TRIM was. By the way, I do know that 'Skookum' is Chinook for strong....

lindsey - 2005-01-14 23:37:56
I got a haircut Tuesday.... AND I hate it.... It is tooo short. I told my hairdresser (my aunt) to cut off 1 and a half inches, she cut off three. She said it needed it... But it didnt.

You're too generous, UB. ;-)

Jill - 2005-01-15 02:32:23
I don't think I'm alone when I say that I really don't care about the girls in UB's comment section's hair cuts. Why do people come on here and "contribute" their stupid ass stories?
-------------------------------
again - 2005-01-15 02:36:29
Maybe I'm drunk, but the finagle talk is just assinine. Look that word up you illiterate fucks. "blah blah, just how much you listen to those around you, blah blah, or something... I'm a retard" Yeah, grab a brain.
-------------------------------
Muffin - 2005-01-15 09:29:46
You can milk this free do for all it's worth by going to SuperCuts and instructing the "fresh out of beauty school" graduates to "just follow the cut". This will work until you encounter the rouge stylist hell bent on starting a new trend on YOUR head.

ScottyP - 2005-01-15 11:38:44
I am familiar with all of UB's vernacular, and I'm from the Northeast. As far as free haircuts, never had the fortune to obtain one. And since I'm prematurely gray AND balding, each and every haircut is a freakin' traumatic experience, let me tell ya.

There are many hidden messages here. I think Dea's comment is the winner though.

Seeing is believing, friend. Let's see the hair.

How the hell are we gonna recognize ya with a damn good haircut and all?

HA! I got a comment on my comment.

Clemens' funeral was a small gathering in Elmira, where his wife and daughters were already buried. But to allow his public a chance to pay their respects, his body was first taken to New York City, mytoyotasupramk3 com where thousands saw it in the Presbyterian Brick Church. The viewing was open to the public, but if you had a ticket like the one at left you could be admitted first.
