First of all, Cosmic- HA! Bob sir, you are most excellent and you stated your opinion eloquently. Personally, I think someone should get a little crazy with a rock and take out Ms. Drooling Sugarhillgang but then again that's coming from someone who back in the day thought we should have cut baby M in half, so nevermind.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on this one UB. I'm usually one who's pretty gung-ho about the idea that we simply don't have the right to take another life... but really, we wouldn't be. We're just not saving her. Did they take the tube out? I didn't hear.

I don't think I'd ever grow the balls necessary to wear that shirt. Ah well. What annoys me about the protesters are the death threats some are making against the hospital, judge, hell, even Gov. Bush now. Honesty, how can you look yourself in the mirror and claim to be "for life" when you make death threats?

You know I just have one thing to say. Whether or not you think Terri should live or die, it is fucking cruel to kill her by basically making her starve to death- there is still debate over whether or not she can feel hunger, pain ect. That is all.

Muffin - 2005-03-26 21:44:20
So we are doing all this to be humane? Wouldn't humane mean giving her a massive shot of morphine versus dehydrating her? The hypocrisy is crazy!

fifi - 2005-03-27 12:02:25
Muffin. you are right. If a terminal cancer patient can be given morphine, who can say whether Terri's suffering has not been greater over the years?

Did anyone see the story about the two men that were arrested for trying to bring Schlepermofooble a glass of water? ><

Lorac - 2005-03-27 15:07:18
They ARE giving her morphine. It was a 10-year old boy who was arrested (detained?) for trying to bring her water. UB, thank you. I have been mucho depressed this long, lonely weekend...even watched several "comedy" movies without cracking even a grin. But when I saw that T-shirt...OMG! I'm still chuckling my ass off. Maybe I'm just a sick bastage like yourself! Love ya!

Um....Kirstie Alley is dieting....good for her...that shirt is sick and I so get it.....of course I am laughing. I am thinking about the Schaivo and Schindler families so much...and I am writing my Living Will right now....

you think you've got it bad UB? try living in fucking tallahassee when all this shit's going down. every time i drive by the courthouse i want to smack those people around. they've got cars decorated with "save terri's life" and all sorts of bible verses on how life is beautiful and we shouldnt let the poor women die. it's insane

Apparently, the parents have asked the husband to divorce Terri and give the responsibility back to them. The husband refuses to do this, probably just in case there is still any money to made from the woman's death, who knows? As a Christian, I think these dramatic protesters are just trying to get their 15 minutes of media fame, trying to involve themselves in the case. The rest of us are home, unobtrusively praying for GOD (remember him, media hogs?) to have His way in this situation and do what is truly best for Terri.

This isn't about money, or the husband would have accepted one of the offers ($1 million, $10 million) to give up his right to decide treatment. http://usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-03-10-schiavo_x.htm?POE=NEWISVA
