I'm listening to your radio station right now at work. Good stuff! This is the first I heard of Neutral Milk Hotel. That one will require more research. Have fun on the cruise.

I live in a port city, and I work on th waterfront to boot. And lemme say, cruise people are so. annoying. Do me a favour UB - if you find yourself in an ice cream parlour, just pick a damn flavour.

The ship will have a couple of pay washers and dryers somewhere. I pack light so it is a must to wash clothes at some point. The great thing about being in the laundry room on a cruise ship is that you will have the opportunity to talk with the employees during their off-time. Not having to parrot the company line they will give you the lowdown of what to do and where to go in each port. And how to make your own "shore excursion" at about 1/3 of the boat's price.

Self-Service Launderettes 2 or 3 washers, 2 or 3 dryers and 1 iron and ironing board in each launderette. The cost is $2.00 per washer load and $2.00 per dryer load. Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent and water softener at $1.00 per box. Riviera Deck 1: across from 1357 and 1359 Main Deck 2: across from 2365 and 2367 Upper Deck 6: across from 6385 and 6387 Empress Deck 7: across from 7337 and 7339 Verandah Deck 8: across from 8349 and 8351 Lido Deck 9: across from 9268 and 9270 What can I say? I get a little stir crazy on those ships and am always on the lookout for some quiet place to get away to. After all, there's only so much that a person can eat in a day - I don't have the constitution to imbibe 24/7 - I prefer not to spend my day lounging poolside - and I'm a terrible gambler. If you want to meet some interesting ship staff members from all around the world you should head to the lowest deck laundrette - it's usually where they wash their clothes during off hours. They're generally even more friendly than they are during their work shift. If there's no tempting young Danish lass to talk to I'm sure that there will be somebody's sweet grandmother. AND!!! If you like a particular brand of soft drink, then you are allowed to pack a "reasonable amount" of them in your luggage. For some reason the soda fountains on those ships SUUUUUUCK. Seriously - they are yucky beyond belief. You know how good a Coca-Cola is at McDonald's? Now go that far in the other direction! Blecch! (For us, "reasonable" was 4 12 packs.) And the resulting empty luggage was used to bring home souvenirs. Sorry this ran so long. Apparently I have no life - sue me! Have fun!

The 1st part of that post was a cut and paste. I have a little more of a life than that. Not much more - but definitely a little more... I saw the Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World last Saturday. Does that count?

Don't forget to take the towel folding class. Sashay right up to the stage so that you can spread your towels out - so much better than doing it in a seat. I swear that nobody will think you're gay! (Not even your wife.)

Universal is in Orlando, and it's not Disney at all.

IV:XX - I DREAM about traveling with stir crazy people like you! You do all the scheduling and leg work and *I* just get to show up. Excellent. I also agree with you, Allyson, Univeral (if not crowded) is a must see/do. I haven't been there in years, but the earthquake in the subway totally rocked at the time!
