I just had the coolest thing happen to me. And since it happened to me and not you, I thought I'd share. In 1996, a department store here in town went out of business. Lechmere Home Image was the name of it, I think. Every week, the discount on all stuff in the store would get higher. First week, it's 10% off everything in the store, etc. When it got to 90 percent off everything in the store, I bought close to $400 in compact discs and computer games. I bought damned near anything they had, just for the hell of it. If I didn't already have the disc in my collection, I put it in my shopping cart. As long as it was something I thought I might like, I snagged it. I had the money (I mean...the credit card) at the time, so I just went nuts. I ended up buying close to 150 cds that I listened to in a one year period. Today, I'm cleaning out some boxes in my closet and there's a heavy box in there. With a Lechmere Home Image bag in it. With 45 unopened CDs in it that I had completely forgotten about. I don't remember how they got in there, and can only chalk the incident up as being "alcohol related". I KNOW I let out a squeal like a little girl getting a stuffed animal. I ran to show my wife, who was about as impressed with my holy grail as the dog was. So I'm rocking out to Butthole Surfers right now, with Public Enemy coming up next. It's a cold, rainy assed Saturday outside. Life is too grand.
